Kody Macon

Fire Officer I

Mr. Macon has been in the fire service for just over two decades and has served in several roles. Currently, he is the training and safety officer for the Highlander Fire Protection District in Floyd County. Mr. Macon has taught as an adjunct instructor for the Center for Domestic Preparedness and is also a fire service instructor for the Indiana Fire & Public Safety Academy. Mr. Macon is an avid member of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI), the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF).

 

Mr. Macon holds a Master of Arts in Disaster and Risk Management from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University. Mr.Macon is a credentialed Training Officer and Live Fire Instructor through the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) and is working towards his Chief Training Officer credential through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE). Mr. Macon holds numerous state, federal, and private certifications and continues to have a passion for sitting in the front of the classroom and learning more about the trade he’s passionate about. Outside of the fire service, Mr. Macon enjoys spending time with his daughters, his wife of nearly two decades, as well as reading and being outdoors as well as listening to fire service-related podcasts on his hour drive to and from work.
